Others Who Have Found Their Way Here

The Purpose Of This Blog

This blog has been started to try and bring together as much information as possible on the alloy engine pre-unit Triumphs.
From the early GP500 through to the last Tiger 100s and Trophies, including the low production exotica that was also produced.
Any comments, corrections or stuff for inclusion will be gratefully received.

1949 Triumph GP500

Thanks Laurent

Laurent sent this picture of  Bolton dealer Sylvanus (Syl) Anderton aboard his '49 GP500.
The bike looks factory fresh in this picture, but it competed in the 1949 and '50 TTs

Tiger 100 Motor Cycling Road Test 21st July 1955

Thanks to David Hernández

Tested in 1955 and fitted with the Factory Race Kit and a close ratio box, top speed in 3rd,
108 MPH and 116 in fourth! Although this bike must have been a "road test special", it would be interesting to see contemporary road tests from other magazines to compare results.

New Venture

This blog is intended to bring  together as much information as possible on the alloy engined Triumphs, from the first GP500 of 1948 to the last pre unit Tiger 100s of 1958. Some of Meridens prettiest bikes ever fall into this category, including exotica produced for the race tracks of the U.S. which were never seen in Europe.
